We bought our 1999 Cobra "Jenna" in
Feb 2005 from Nelson Auto Group (www.trucksource.net)
on Hwy 183 & Duval Rd. They are a truck dealership so it was easy to
negotiate a good deal. It was built on May 26, 1999 and is # 2620. She was equipped with sub-frame
connectors, 4:10 gears, off-road
X pipe, matching white Cobra R rims, and the convertible roll bar. She went
to Houston Raceway Park the first weekend we had her and ran a few passes -
pretty quick, but not quick enough. We got her tuned at CCS Tuning not long
after we got her, and she's still running the same tune on the new motor!
Since then, we have dropped in a 5.3L big bore stroker bottom end: We took a
stock aluminum 1998 cobra block and had Port Pros bore out the cylinders as
far as they could go (about .160 over the stock (3.5) and then sleeve them,
bringing the actual cylinder size to 3.704 We also took the stroke to 3.75
from the stock stroke 3.5 . The hardware includes custom JE forged pistons,
Eagle h-beam rods, forged steel crank. Added long tube headers and got rid
of the exhaust (no mufflers!). Heads and cams are all stock!! And we are
still running on stock IRS, transmission and clutch. Current dyno numbers

Story behind the name Jenna - while on the lot at Nelson's, she had "GO
TOPLESS" written on the front window as a selling point for the drop top
feature. Needless to say, she really likes to go topless!! Much like the porn
star Jenna Jameson! So we named her Jenna. We have since discovered many
other similarities between a quick race car and a famous porn star. |
